On Jan. 16, Department of Crop Farming Administration of the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) and Sinofert signed “Memorandum on Jointly Promoting Scientific Fertilization” in Beijing. The cooperation is aimed at enhancing cooperation between MOA and the enterprises, exploring effective ways of bringing formula fertilization to the rural households, building up long term effective mechanism of scientific fertilization, promoting yield increase and efficiency growth of agricultural production, reducing farmers’ cost and increasing their income, upgrading and transforming fertilizer companies, and providing strong support to ensuring food security, food safety and ecological safety of agriculture. Deputy Minister Yu Xinrong and Sinochem President Liu Deshu were present at the signing ceremony of the memorandum.

According to the memorandum, in 2014 in the advantageous regions of grains, vegetable and cash crops, a large number of major counties will be selected to become the demonstration counties of jointly promoting formula fertilization between MOA and the enterprises. The cooperation between MOA and Sinochem this time will further promote the work in this regard, which will lead other fertilizer companies to participate in scientific fertilization.
